01Who we are and what these terms cover
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Rivu, a web-based goal reconciliation and planning tool available at app.rivu.in, together with our website at rivu.in and any guides, workbooks, emails and support we provide alongside it (collectively, the "Service").
The Service is owned and operated by Rivu ("we", "us", "our"), a business based in India.
By purchasing, accessing or using the Service you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872 to purchase or use the Service.
02What Rivu is — and what it is not
Please read this section carefully
Rivu is a calculator, not an adviser. Rivu performs arithmetic on figures that you enter, using assumptions that you control. It does not know your full financial circumstances, it does not assess suitability, and it does not tell you what to do with your money.
Specifically, you acknowledge and agree that:
- We are not SEBI-registered. Rivu is not registered with the Securities and Exchange Board of India as an Investment Adviser, Research Analyst, Portfolio Manager or Mutual Fund Distributor, and does not hold itself out as any of these.
- Nothing on Rivu is investment, tax, legal or financial advice. Outputs are illustrative calculations produced from your own inputs and assumptions. They are not recommendations, endorsements or solicitations to buy, sell or hold any security, mutual fund scheme, insurance product or other financial instrument.
- The default asset allocation and return figures are working assumptions, not recommendations. Rivu ships with editable default assumptions for expected returns, inflation and the mix across asset classes purely so the tool has somewhere to start. They are not optimal, not endorsed, and not tailored to you. You are expected to review and change them. Every downstream number recalculates from whatever you set.
- We do not sell, distribute or earn commission on any financial product. We receive no payment from any fund house, insurer, broker or platform.
- Projections are not guarantees. Any future value shown is a mathematical projection based on assumed rates. Actual investment returns vary, may be negative, and are subject to market risk. Past performance does not indicate future results.
You should consult a SEBI-registered investment adviser or a qualified chartered accountant before acting on any figure produced by the Service. Decisions you make with your money remain entirely your own.
03Your licence to use Rivu
On successful payment, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable licence to access and use Rivu for your own personal financial planning, for as long as the Service remains available.

What you may not do
- Share, resell, sublicense, rent or transfer your account or access credentials to anyone else.
- Use the Service to provide paid or unpaid financial advice or planning services to third parties without our prior written consent.
- Copy, scrape, reverse-engineer, decompile or attempt to derive the source code, formulas or underlying logic of the Service, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
- Reproduce, republish or distribute our guides, workbooks, screenshots or written material without attribution and written permission.
- Circumvent payment, share paid access, or use automated means to access the Service at a scale that degrades it for others.
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that infringes anyone's rights.
We may suspend or terminate your access without refund if you materially breach these restrictions.
04Pricing, payment and taxes
The price of Rivu is displayed on the website at the time of purchase and is stated in Indian Rupees (INR). Applicable taxes, including GST where charged, are shown at checkout.
Payments are processed by Razorpay Software Private Limited, our third-party payment gateway. We do not receive, handle or store your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN, net-banking credentials or any other payment authentication data — these are captured and processed entirely by the gateway under its own terms and security standards.
We reserve the right to change our pricing at any time. Any change applies only to purchases made after the change takes effect; it does not affect a purchase you have already completed.
If a payment fails, is reversed, or is charged back after access has been granted, we may suspend your access until the matter is resolved.
05Your account and your data
Rivu requires an account to sign in. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity that takes place under your account. Tell us promptly at support@rivu.in if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
Important — how your plan is stored
The financial figures you enter into Rivu are stored locally in your own browser, not on our servers. We cannot see your goals, income, expenses or plan, and we cannot recover them for you.
This is a deliberate privacy choice, and it has a real trade-off you need to understand before you buy: if you clear your browser data, use private/incognito mode, switch to a different browser, or move to a different computer, your saved plan will not be there. Export or write down anything you want to keep. We are not able to restore lost plan data under any circumstances.
How we handle the limited personal information we do collect — such as your email address and payment reference — is set out in our Privacy Policy.
06Accuracy, availability and changes to the Service
We take care to make Rivu's calculations correct, but the Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the outputs will suit any particular purpose.
Outputs depend entirely on the accuracy of what you enter and the assumptions you choose. Incorrect or incomplete inputs will produce incorrect results, and we are not responsible for that.
We may modify, suspend, add to or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. If we permanently discontinue Rivu within 12 months of your purchase, we will give you reasonable notice by email so that you can export anything you need.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always published on this page with its effective date. Material changes will be communicated by email or through a notice on the site. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the revised Terms.
07Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for any investment loss, shortfall, missed goal, opportunity cost, tax consequence or other financial outcome arising from decisions you make using, or informed by, the Service.
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill or anticipated savings.
- We are not liable for loss of plan data stored in your browser, including through cache clearing, browser or device changes, or browser malfunction.
- Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, is limited to the amount you actually paid us for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable Indian law, including liability for fraud or wilful misconduct.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against any claim brought by a third party arising from your misuse of the Service or your breach of these Terms.
08Intellectual property
Rivu, the Rivu name and logo, the website, the application, its interface and design, and all guides, workbooks and written material we publish are owned by Rivu and protected by Indian and international intellectual property law.
Your licence under Clause 3 does not transfer any ownership. The figures and plans you create using Rivu belong entirely to you.
09Refunds
Refunds are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these Terms. In summary: you may request a refund within 7 days of purchase, stating a genuine reason for the request. Please read the full policy for the process, timelines and the situations that fall outside it.
10Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. The courts of competent jurisdiction in India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service.
Before commencing formal proceedings, we ask that you first raise the matter with us at support@rivu.in so that we can attempt to resolve it in good faith.
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
